Dr. Lawrence Emeka Modeme is a Partner at Hermon Legal Practitioners. He obtained his LL.B at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1990 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. After his National Youth Service, he practiced law in Lagos for 10 years, focusing on Corporate, Commercial, and Real Property Law, and Civil Litigation. In 2001, Dr Modeme left Nigeria for further studies in the United Kingdom. In 2013, he obtained an LL.M in International Law from Nottingham Trent University. In 2009, he obtained a Ph.D. in International Law from the University of Manchester.

Dr Modeme has lectured extensively in law at different universities within and outside the United Kingdom, including the University of Manchester, the University of Salford, and the University of Hong Kong. He is currently a senior lecturer at the Manchester Law School, Manchester Metropolitan University United Kingdom, and a legal consultant to different Nigerian and international organizations. His areas of interest are Corporate and Business Law, International Trade Law, Public International Law, and Law of Obligations.

Dr Modeme is an accomplished legal writer and contributor, and an author of legal and general interest books. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, the European Society of International Law, and the African Society of International Law.
