The Founding Partners

Yemi OSINBAJO, SAN
Yemi, a professor of law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), previously served as the Special Adviser to the Attorney General of Nigeria and later became the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State(1999- 2007). He has also served the United Nations in different capacities and units including United Nations Centre on Transnational Corporations, the United National African Institute for Crime Prevention, the International Criminal Court for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania, the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the United Nations Peace Operations in Somalia(UNOSOM). He is currently the Ethics Adviser to the Advisory Board of the African Development Bank 

Yemi is a member of the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Body of Benchers and the Council of Legal Education in Nigeria. He is a graduate of University of Lagos and London School of Economics

Professor Osinbajo has  authored, co-authored  and edited several books  and publications including The Unification and Reform of the Nigerian Criminal Law and Procedure Codes ; Law Development and Administration; The Annotated Civil Procedure rules of The Superior Courts in Nigeria and Cross Examination: A Trial Lawyer’s Most Potent Weapon. He has extensive practice in local and international financial and advisory services. He is married with children.

Dotun A. KUKOYI, LL.B, BL
Dotun, a corporate solicitor was formerly the in-house counsel to Gulf-Oil Company (now Chevron), until he established his practice. He was the head of chambers and chief counsel of Segun & Segun; member of the National Consultative Assembly on reform of Company Law and counsel to several foreign and local banks and financial institutions. With his forensic litigation versatility, Dotun led the firm’s commercial and corporate matters, particularly in oil and gas, trade marks, patents and copyright.

 He is a graduate of University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and was admitted to practice law in Nigeria as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in 1982. Dotun is married to Floretta.

Floretta A. KUKOYI (nee Adokpaye), LL.B, BL
Floretta,the erstwhile managing partner of O,K&A Associates handled the corporate secretarial arm of the firm`s practice. She had worked with Fred Agbeyegbe & Company, Barristers & Solicitors, where she gained experience in patents and trademark, corporate compliance and regulation. Floretta was the Corporate Secretary to and promoter of financial institutions to one of the first mortgage saving and loans institution in Nigeria. There she obtained extensive experience in all areas of real estate business.

 She is a graduate of University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and was admitted to practice law in Nigeria as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in 1982. She is married to Dotun. 

The Partners

Ochuko PEDRO, LLM, BL
Ochuko is a graduate of University of Jos, Nigeria and was admitted to practice law in Nigeria as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in 1989 he obtained a Masters degree in law from University of Lagos in 1997 with emphasis on International Economic Law and Transactions and International Company Law.

Ochuko has a wealth of experience in constitutional litigation, corporate law and compliance issues. He was Special Assistant to the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Delta State of Nigeria (2001-2007). While he was so engaged, he handled legal aspects of the Government’s commercial transaction documentation and regulatory compliance. 

He is now on Sabbatical as the Group Company Secretary to Ascot, an oil and gas services group with 7 subsidiaries spread across Africa, Latin America and the US.

Benjamin OBIDEGWU, LL.M, ACTI
Ben is a 1990 graduate of law from University of Nigeria and was admitted to practice law in Nigeria in December 1991. He obtained a masters degree in law in 1998 from Lagos State University, specializing in Banking and Investment Law. He is currently the Managing Partner of the firm. 

Ben’s has experience in corporate compliance and regulation matters, banking and investment practice and taxation. His interests are in Mining, Real Estate and Property Matters. Ben is an Associate Member Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, member Section on Business Law of the Nigerian Bar Association and an alumnus of Lagos Business School. Ben is also Capital Market Consultant registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria He has attended several law and law related seminars and workshops both in Nigeria and abroad.

Ikechukwu IFEDIORA, LL.B, BL
Ikechukwu graduated from University of Nigeria 1990 and was admitted to practice law in Nigeria in December 1991. 

Prior to joining the firm he had worked with Fidelis Nwadialo (SAN) & Co where he got much of his professional experience. He also worked for Oilserve Limited (an oil service company based in Port Harcourt) as company secretary and legal adviser.

Ikechukwu brought to the firm his extensive experience in litigation and matters of dispute resolution especially in his specialist areas of commercial and criminal law. He heads the litigation arm of the firm. He is member the Nigerian Bar Association. He has attended several law and law related seminars and workshops in Nigeria.  


Senior Associates

Edith EKWUGHA, LL.B, BL
Edith studied law at Merton College, University of Oxford, England from 1992 to 1996. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999 and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.

After qualifying in 1999, Edith spent a few years in the voluntary sector before returning to practice law. Her practice areas are corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, energy and natural resources, intellectual property and private client. She has experience in mergers and acquisitions, and public offers as well as a considerable knowledge of the Nigerian voluntary sector and its regulation. Much of her professional experience has been gained working under Professor Fidelis Oditah QC, SAN who is an international authority in corporate finance and insolvency.

OLUWAFUNMILAYO IYANDA, LL.M
Oluwafunmilayo was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002 upon graduation with honours from Nigeria’s premier university (University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State) in the year 2000. 

She commenced her legal career at Hermon Barristers & Solicitors were she was engaged as an intern, underwent the compulsory national corps service and was subsequently retained as an Associate. 

Her return to the classrooms earned her a Masters’ Degree in Legislative Drafting from the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) at Akoka, Lagos State in the year 2006. 

In the course of her legal career, both within and outside law office practice, Oluwafunmilayo has developed skills in the areas of legal drafting, research and advocacy, due diligence, legal publishing and legal media reporting. 

Oluwafunmilayo, the pioneer editor of the law newspaper, Nigerian Law Times (NLT) is regarded as an individual with the capacity to deliver. 


Philip T. ODE, LL.B, BL
Philip is a Senior Associate with vast knowledge of commercial practice, legal drafting and advocacy. Philp is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Member, Institute of Administrative Managers of Nigeria as well as Associate Member, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Philip is a graduate of Benue State University, was admitted to practice law in Nigeria in 2004.

Nneka AMUCHEAZI, LL.M, BL
Nneka heads the Oil and Gas sector of the firm’s practice. She obtained a Masters degree in law from University of Dundee, Scotland with a specialization in Energy Law and Policy. Prior to that, she worked as the Compliance and Membership Officer of the Nigerian Bar Association.  

Nneka graduated from University of Nigeria Nsukka and was admitted to practice law in Nigeria in 2005. She is a graduate member of the Energy Institute, member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a Student member of Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.
